Blogging? As a new mom? Groundbreaking...
As I was prepping for my 6 months (!!!) of maternity leave, I had lots of ideas for what it might be like while knowing that it wouldn't be like anything I'd known or done before. I knew it wouldn't be a break or a vacation. I thought I might want to have some sort of creative outlet, like continuing to work on my novel or blogging. Well, as I approach my final week of maternity leave, it turns out I did not end up pursuing any of those creative pursuits, but now that it's time to go back to work, I thought now might be time to start carving out a little time for some writing.
I pulled up my old blog to see if maybe that might be a good place to start writing again. I started chuckling reading some of my old posts. Why is our younger self always so cringe-inducing? I originally planned to archive or hide the old posts, but figured it might actually be good to leave - what a way to reflect on how I've grown and changed over the years. (Plus, I don't think anyone reads my current posts - so I'm not worried about a large viewership for the old stuff!)
Anyway, this may be a one-and-done post, but hopefully I'll begin reflecting here on my life as a (new) mom: what I'm reading, activities with kids, what I'm cooking, how I'm staying active, and what I'm wearing. Run-of-the-mill lifestyle stuff, but things that bring me joy, so hoping they'll do that for you, too!
xoxo, Emma
