What I Read in November
November was a busy month of creating new routines. I started my new (part-time!) job, which I am absolutely loving so far! I'm working for Haus Analytics (Haus.io), which is a tool that helps marketers run experiments to measure the impact of their campaigns.
Maisie is home with me on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This month, we traveled to KC a few times - once to spend some time with Unbound.org, where I volunteer on the board, and the other for an extended Thanksgiving trip to see family.
We also battled a few bugs this month - please send any and all immune-boosting tips!
We're excited for Christmas in this house! We held off decorating for Christmas until yesterday, but we're getting right into the festive spirit! (I did already sneak ahead in reading, though!)

None of This is True by Lisa Jewell: I hadn't read a thriller in a long time, and found this on BookTok. A page turner for sure! Covers the creation of a podcast-turned-Netflix-show, and explores who gets to tell the story that the world accepts as true. Would recommend!

A Novel Love Story by Ashley Poston: After my re-read of The Dead Romantics, I was excited to read Ashley Poston's newest novel. I had heard that it was not as beloved by readers as her other recent novels, but I really enjoyed it! It's about falling into a favorite book - and being fully immersed :). Would recommend!

The Women by Kristin Hannah: I have to admit - I knew so many people who LOVED this book, but when I got it from Libby the first time, I couldn't finish it in the time. Historical Fiction is a phenomenal tool to learn about history in a meaningful way, but I just couldn't get into reading about wartime. I knew it was worth a second try, so put it back on my Libby hold list and finished it this time around. I was glad the story followed her after she got home from war, as I enjoyed reading this a bit more. Although, the whole story is so, incredibly sad. Definitely not an uplifting escape from reality, but I'd still recommend.

The Twelve Dates of Christmas by Jenny Bayliss: I picked this book for Poppy's Paints Book Club, because I wanted to read a Christmas book! Well I must admit - this is not my favorite Christmas novel I've read! Although still entertaining! I'm excited to hear everyone else's take at our book clubs on December 6th (in person) and December 17th (virtual). There's still time to sign up! In spite of not being the best book I've ever read, I'd still recommend!
Wishing everyone a fun, festive, and full holiday season, and hopefully you get to squeeze in a little R&R, too!
xoxo,
Emma
