Che Che la Bonn Bonn

Today was the last day of class for our first week. After class we went to Bonn....which is like going to Kansas City from Lenexa. Except a little closer, and you can take the subway. We saw the oldest church in Bonn. This older man who was a parishioner was telling us the history of the church. Afterwards I asked him about Pope Benedict XVI and he got SUPER excited in telling me that JPII came to the church and declared it a basilica. He was so cute!
When we got finished with touring Bonn, I went with a few of the other American and British students to a coffee shop in Bonn. By the end, we weren't speaking much German, but it was definitely a fun way to relax at the end of the week!
Tonight we went with the Goethe-Instutit to a bar and grill to socialize. The place was very American, so (obviously? haha) very fun! I chatted the whole night with Madeline, who will be a sophomore at a small college in Ohio. After dinner we headed over to the Irish Pub (eloquently named "Irish Pub") with some other people from classes. (Pappy, I thought you'd be proud!) Sorry this post is so short! I have to get up tomorrow, because we're going to Köln (aka Cologne)! I promise pictures tomorrow!!

  2. Wish I was there having a beer with you at the Irish Pub. Most of the old men (at the church) are friendly like me. Love, Pappy
