Kirche
Yesterday we went to Köln with a lot of other students from the Goethe-Instutit. When we got there, we were greeted by the enormous cathedral. Unfortunately, it was cold and rainy. We took a walking tour of the city, but by the end everyone was cold, tired, wet, and hungry. We found a German restaurant, and I had Wiener Schnitzel! We went into der Dom (the cathedral), but we didn't have enough time to climb to the top. The good news is that Madeline and I can get a junior pass for the whole month to use the subways and busses for around $20 so we're planning on going back to Köln.
This morning, Kristen and I went to Mass. We decided to just find the closest church and then go. We figured out how to get there and everything. So when we got there, the mass started...and it was in French!! Kristen knows how to read French so she could understand much more than I could what was going on, but the good news is that I had already read the readings, and Mass is the same everywhere so I understood what was going on. We think next week we'll go to the earlier time so that it will be in German.
Later tonight we're going to the movies, so this afternoon I'll work on some homework and go for a run. Pretty typical Sunday afternoon!!
Bis Später! (Till later!)
Liebe von Bad Godesberg,
Emma
