Keine Käse

Hello all! No, I have not died, just been super busy!! Not to mention, my internet connection is sehr fruchtbar (very horrible), so I haven't been able to write much.
Thursday was a Feiertag (Holiday), Corpus Christi, so we didn't have class! We tried to go out to eat at this restaurant called cactus. We assumed German Mexican food. The menu was pretty small, but we ordered "Nachos con Salsa." We received a giant bowl of chips, and a small bowl of half salsa, half sour cream. Not even any cheese! What is it with us ordering the things that should have cheese but actually don't?!
Since we had a free night, we went to the disko in Bonn! It was exceptionally fun, especially since I've been wanting to go since last time I was in Germany!! It was called Schwarzlicht...which means BlackLight.
Thursday was fairly boring, lots of sleeping and homework, etc. We did go to "Hallo Pizza" for dinner. It's a California Pizza Kitchen knock-off chain. They had Texas Pizza with potatoes on it, and various other states with random combinations of toppings that neither went together nor corresponded with their supposed state. On the plus side, there were unlimited refills on soft drinks - a rarity in Germany. Other things that are practically included in Americans' birthright but you must pay for in Europe include tap water and using the restroom. The other good news is this pizza DID have cheese on it!
The next night we went with Goethe to a German Mexican restaurant. It tasted alright, but it was no where near giving Margarita's South a run for their money. Tomorrow night we're making our own fajitas, because our taste buds now want real mexican food!
Saturday we visited Aachen, a town built by Karl den Großen aka Charlemange. We saw a Cathedral he commissioned, along with an arm bone, a leg bone, and a bust that encased his cranium! Also, the town is famous for its Lebkuchen (almost gingerbread), so we tried some of that.
Today we took a boat ride up the Rhine to see all of the medieval castles! It was really fun, both being on the boat and seeing everything! Also, it was a UNESCO World Heritage Site slash tour.
So I found out one of my friends is going to see Flo Rida in Paris, and we were inspired. We ALMOST decided to go see him in Brussels, Belgium, but we've decided to spend our last night in Germany instead. I wonder if he would've sang "Apple Bottom jeans" in Flemish...

Liebe von Bonn! Emma
